Global Positioning System
Donaldson, Garrett & Associates offers expertise and the latest technology for its GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM (GPS) SERVICES. We use the NAVSTAR navigational satellite network to determine the relative position of survey points to an extremely high degree of precision. Geodetic coordinates (latitude and longitude) are also determined. GPS is extremely accurate, versatile, and is the quickest method of locating remote points. Projects which would take days with conventional methods can usually be completed within a few hours.
GPS APPLICATIONS INCLUDE:
- Conventional or Hazardous Waste Sites
- Establishment of State Plane Coordinates
- Geographic Information System (GIS) Data Gathering
- Geodetic Coordinates on a Site
- Location of Existing Points
- Mining Exploration
- Monitoring Well and Soil Boring Locations
- Photogrammetric Control
Our surveyors collect satellite data by utilizing our Real Time Kinematic Dual Frequency receivers at the survey site. These state-of-the-art, weatherproof units can produce real-time, three-dimensional data.
Surveyors can quickly reduce field data and coordinate values on-site utilizing a complete post-processing software system. DG&A associates have been factory trained in GPS procedures and are qualified to perform accurate surveys in a timely manner.
Fewer man-hours are required to perform surveys, often reducing costs. Additionally, the highly precise methodology of GPS reduces the possibilities of error associated with traditional techniques.
